Why I'm Running

Civic activism drives our recovery.
It is time for that energy to move the Louisiana Democratic Party.
The levee failures changed everything in
New Orleans.
This time of renewal calls for a new kind of political discourse.
I have been involved with the rebuilding effort from the earliest
planning stages. I am
heartened by the progress that we are showing, and see a unique
opportunity to use the civic energy generated by the dual hurricane
disasters of 2005 to push for the rebuilding of our state party.
It is vitally important that reasoned voices drive open discussion
across the state on equal opportunity health care, economic
responsibility and opportunity, swift environmental action, and
integrity in government, including meaningful campaign finance reform.
Our family will work with others across Louisiana to build a solid party
structure that will energize parish committees to reach each street
corner in Louisiana.
